GIfMI invested in the 'Deep Resolve Boost and Sharp' (DRBS) Upgrade Package of SIEMENS Healthineers. Deep Resolve Boost uses raw-data-to-image deep learning reconstruction technology enabling strong denoising for strong acquisition acceleration, which results in either higher resolution or faster scanning. This makes a significant difference for mainly structural imaging, as test subjects need to lie in the bore for a considerably shorter time. Deep Resolve Boost is currently not directly beneficial for fMRI as the algorithm is trained to recognize and remove clinical image noise while aggressively smoothing k-space fMRI data runs a high risk of erasing the crucial, subtle physiological signals that one aims to measure.
