Your Safety, Our Concern

The scanner’s powerful magnetic field poses safety risks, especially with ferromagnetic materials. To ensure the safety of participants and staff and to minimize the risk of damage to the MRI scanner, all researchers working at CORE GIfMI must:

Complete the CORE GIfMI MRI Safety Training
Pass safety screening by the MRI Safety Responsible before facility access

All participants and anyone entering the scanner room are also screened for contraindications.

MRI Safety Training

1. Schedule Your MRI Safety Training

Complete the MRI Safety Training Application Form.
Await the email from the MR Safety Responsible with a proposed training date and link to the e-learning.

2. Complete the E-Learning Module (60 min.)

Completion is mandatory as it is essential to understand the risks of MRI.
Completion is mandatory before attending the on-site session as its content is required to fully understand the on-site demonstration.

3. Attend the On-site Demonstration (75 min.)

Bring your completed MR Safety Screening Form (English / Dutch) to the session.
Experience the power of the magnetic field in a safe, controlled setting.

Annual MRI Safety Training Renewal (pending)

To maintain your MRI Safety Trained status you must complete an annual renewal.
About one year after your initial training, you'll receive an email with an online renewal quiz.
A score of at least 80% is required to pass and keep your certification.
